Nobody chooses this. If you’d been handed a menu of lives, “lose my child to suicide” would never have been on it. And yet here we are — living a life we didn’t choose, serving a God we still believe is good.
Trusting God after loss isn’t the cheerful, easy kind of trust. It’s the shaky-handed, tears-on-your-pillow kind. It’s saying “I don’t understand, but I’m still Yours” on the days when understanding feels a million miles away.
In this episode, I talk about what that kind of trust actually looks like in real life — not the Sunday-school version, but the middle-of-the-night version. Proverbs 3:5 tells us to “trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding” (ESV). Some days, that’s all we’ve got. And you know what? That’s enough.
