You’ve heard people say “God won’t give you more than you can handle.” Sweet mom, I’m going to be straight with you: that’s not in the Bible. And grief after losing a child to suicide will absolutely give you more than you can handle.
I know, because I’ve been there — flat on the floor, out of strength, out of answers, out of everything. And you know what I found there? I found the whole point. We were never meant to carry it alone.
“Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7, ESV). Casting — like throwing. Like getting it off your back and onto His, on purpose, as a daily practice. Not once, not when you feel spiritual enough. Every single day you wake up and the weight is still there.
In this episode, I talk about what to do when the grief is heavier than your strength — and the God who has never once dropped what you handed Him.
