Have you ever prayed and heard… nothing? Not a whisper, not a nudge, just silence so loud it hurts your ears?

After loss, a lot of moms tell me they feel like God went quiet. The prayers that used to feel like conversation now feel like talking to an empty room. And then the guilt piles on, because a “good Christian” shouldn’t feel that way — right?

Wrong. Some of the godliest people in Scripture sat in God’s silence. Job did. David did. Even Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46, ESV). Silence from heaven doesn’t mean absence from heaven.

In this episode, I share how I learned to hear God again — not always in the big dramatic ways, but in the quiet, steady ones. A verse that finds you. A friend’s text at just the right moment. Peace that doesn’t make sense but shows up anyway.

If you know a mom who’s straining to hear God through her grief, send this her way. And if the silence ever feels like more than you can bear, please tell someone — a pastor, a friend, a counselor. In the U.S. or Canada, 988 is there day and night.
