Three little words. And yet when you’re a mom grieving a child lost to suicide, they can feel like the biggest lie in the world.
Because grief is lonely. Even in a crowded room, even at church, even surrounded by people who love you — there’s a particular aloneness that comes with this kind of loss. Nobody quite gets it. Nobody says the right thing. And after a while, you stop expecting anyone to.
But here’s the truth I keep coming back to: “It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:8, ESV). You’re not alone because He is with you. And you’re not alone because there’s a whole sisterhood of moms walking this same road — including me.
In this episode, I talk about the loneliness that follows suicide loss and where to find real company in it: in God’s presence, in His Word, and in the moms who understand without needing an explanation.
