Glorifying God in grief sounds like one of those phrases that belongs on a coffee mug — until you’re actually living it. Then it feels less like a slogan and more like a daily choice you make with tears in your eyes.
Here’s what I’ve come to understand: glorifying God in grief doesn’t mean pretending you’re okay. It doesn’t mean slapping a smile on the pain or rushing to the “victory” part of the story. Sometimes glorifying God looks like Job, sitting in the ashes, saying, “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD” (Job 1:21, ESV) — while his heart is in pieces.
It’s worship with a shaky voice. It’s trusting when you can’t see. It’s getting up one more morning and saying, “God, I don’t understand, but You’re still good.”
In this episode, I talk about what it really means to glorify God when your world has fallen apart — and the surprising peace that shows up when you do.
