Can I tell you something nobody says out loud in church? You can be faithful… and still be wounded.
Somewhere along the way, a lot of us picked up the idea that strong faith means you’re fine. That if you really trusted God, the grief wouldn’t still knock the wind out of you. So we smile on Sundays and cry in the car on the way home, and we wonder what’s wrong with us.
Nothing is wrong with you, mom. Faithfulness was never about feeling fine. It’s about holding on to God with wounded hands. David was called a man after God’s own heart, and he wrote some of the most gut-wrenching, tear-soaked prayers in all of Scripture.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3, ESV). Notice He doesn’t say He prevents the wounds. He binds them up — which means He’s right there in the middle of the mess with you, doing the tender work of healing.
In this episode, I talk about what it looks like to keep walking with God while you’re still bleeding — and why that might be the most faithful thing you’ve ever done.

If you’re a faithful, wounded mom, this one’s for you. Share it with another mom who needs permission to be both. And remember — in the U.S. or Canada, 988 is there any time you need someone to talk to.
