TESTIMONY THROUGH TEARS

Speaking into
the Hardest Places

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”

PSALM 147:3

Walking the Road
No Mother Expects

My name is Janet Miller. On January 24, 2025, I lost my daughter Samantha — a beautiful, vibrant 26-year-old woman of faith. Newly married, they had just bought their first home six months before. She showed no signs that she was struggling. Her loss was sudden, devastating, and unlike any grief I had ever known.

My church family gathered around us with tremendous love. And yet, even surrounded by that love, I discovered something that changed the direction of my life: unless you have walked this road, you cannot fully understand what a grieving mother is carrying. Suicide grief is different. It is layered with questions, with guilt, with shock — emotions that don’t follow the paths we expect grief to take.

“God did not waste my pain. Out of the deepest sorrow of my life, He gave me a ministry — to walk alongside other mothers, and to help the Church love them well.”

Today, Testimony Through Tears exists to do both: to walk with mothers in their grief, and to equip the people around them to offer real, meaningful support.
